August house prices in Spain


Idealista’s house price index showed that the secondary property market in Spain grew by 0.4% in August. The average cost per square meter reached 2,004 euros. This figure is 7.2% higher than the same month last year and 5.3% lower than the record house price in Spain in June 2007.

The Balearic Islands, with a price of 3,987 euros per square meter, is the most expensive region, followed by the Community of Madrid, where a square meter is valued at 3,139 euros. In August the price increased by 0.1% in Barcelona and 0.3% in Madrid. In the capital of Spain, the “square” remains at 4,015 euros, and in Barcelona – 4,141 euros. San Sebastian is the most expensive capital of all regions of Spain. The cost per square meter here is 5,326 euros.
