Halsey Sold Her Los Angeles Home to the ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ Director

Jon Chu purchased the 2.5-hectare estate, which includes his own recording studio, at a slight discount. Initially, singer Halsey planned to earn $11.9 million for the mansion, but the deal amounted to $11.6 million. According to experts, this is a very good indicator for this area.

Halsey purchased the home just two years ago, paying approximately $10.2 million. It was previously owned by One Direction’s Liam Payne, who in turn bought the property in 2015 from English financier Roger Jenkins, the ex-husband of Diane Jenkins, known from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Jon Chu himself owns a smaller house on the next street.

The Mediterranean-style mansion, located in the Monte Nido area, in the hills between Calabasas and Malibu, was built in the early 1990s. It offers 1000 square meters of space, three bedrooms, a beauty salon, a two-story library, a cinema, and a chef’s kitchen. The decoration uses natural walnut wood floors.

The estate complex includes no less than seven separate properties, including a small gatehouse for a permanent security guard, a detached 3-car garage, a guest house with its own 3-car garage, a pool house, a separate recording studio and a meditation room. The surrounding area is completely landscaped and boasts grassy lawns, mature plane trees and ancient oak trees scattered throughout the grounds. There’s also a vineyard, a dog run, expansive patios with an outdoor kitchen, a pool, and even a babbling creek that runs the length of the property.

In her free time, Halsey is active in the real estate trade: In the past six months, she has purchased two new multimillion-dollar homes, including a secluded bungalow in Laurel Canyon in Los Angeles and a Spanish-style mansion in Los Feliz. She also owns a house in the Los Angeles suburb of Santa Clarita and in New Jersey, the state where the singer was born and raised.
