Germany’s housing authorities have approved planning permission for 135,200 apartments in the first half of this year. This is 27.2% higher than last year for the same period. In June alone, a drop of 28.5% was recorded. The Ministry of Housing Construction has already announced that the task of commissioning 0.4 million apartments annually has not been completed.
All this is happening in parallel with calls to the authorities to help the industry and with the bankruptcy of some developers. It is expected that a meeting between representatives of the real estate sector and the country’s chancellor will take place in the fall.
