Mainland Portugal residential property market stabilizes in May

Last month there was a slight increase in prices of 0.6%. Similar fluctuations were recorded a month earlier, when the housing price index showed an increase of 0.5%.

The price stabilization trend has replaced the previous acceleration trend observed since January. Price fluctuations increased in the early months of this year, exceeding the values seen in the second half of 2022 and peaking at 2.1% in March. April has already shown a slowdown in price growth in annual terms – 16.3% compared to 17% recorded a year earlier. The housing market in Portugal is entering a period of stability. Price growth has begun to slow, although housing costs are still higher compared to last year.
