All applicants for the Malta residence permit program undergo the Due Diligence procedure, which is carried out by special Maltese authorities. The entire process of obtaining a residence permit in Malta takes from 3 to 5 months.
Program participants do not need to reside in Malta, but should limit their stay in other jurisdictions for a period of up to 183 days. The Malta residence permit under the Malta Global Residence Program is of unlimited duration and is renewable upon fulfilling the conditions of the program: maintaining the property in ownership or rental and paying annual income tax.
