Rick Hilton’s Bel Air mansion sells for $25 million

Real estate mogul, grandson of the founder of Hilton Hotels and father of two famous socialites, Rick Hilton and his wife Kathy have sold an estate in the luxurious Bel Air district to one of China’s top billionaires. Zong Qinghou was able to negotiate the deal with a 55% discount from the original asking price of $55 million.

In 2015, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Rick and Kathy Hilton spent $9.3 million to purchase a heavily modified 1930s home located in an upscale Los Angeles neighborhood. For 2021, they demolished the old building and built a new three-storey white brick home with traditional Georgian features, but meeting the highest Hilton Hotels standards.

Featured on RHOBH by glamorous Harrison Design and Kathy Hilton herself, the home boasts premium finishes, state-of-the-art technology, proximity to major attractions and the privacy of tall hedges. There are eight bedrooms and 16 bathrooms. Walking in, one is greeted by a long hallway with grey-and-white checkerboard stone floors, a parquet-floored formal living and dining room, a walnut-paneled library with a black marble fireplace, and a huge monochrome kitchen. The master bedroom with two dressing rooms and two marble bathrooms occupies an entire wing of the second floor. The basement level features an entertaining space with a wet bar, wine room and another full kitchen. The surrounding area includes lawns, a 10-car racing track and tall hedges for privacy, a pool and spa, and a guest outbuilding.

In the near future, the Hilton couple intends to begin implementing a new project.
