One of the proposals that was discussed in the country’s parliament concerns the introduction of explicit written consent from landlords when tenants intend to sublet their rental property. The lessor has the right to refuse such a request if the sublease period exceeds 2 years. In addition, the country’s authorities have made it easier to evict tenants if the owner shows that the property is needed for personal use.
Supporters of the innovations believe that they will simplify the procedures for resolving disputes between parties to a lease transaction. Skeptics, on the contrary, believe that the new measures will only help homeowners.
