The 10 most promising areas for first-time buyers in the UK have been revealed

Kingston upon Hull, Middlesbrough and Neath Port Talbot are among the top 10 promising locations for first-time buyers, according to new research. First-time buyers looking to buy a home in these locations can expect to pay around £156,000, which is around £132,000 less than the standard average price of £288,030 paid by those on the first rung of the housing ladder in all over Britain.

Although property prices have fallen in recent months, high values in many hotspots mean three in five first-time buyers are willing to move to another part of the country. Around 40% of potential new customers aged 18 to 34 are looking to buy in developing areas outside of big city centres, being forced to look further away from family, friends or work.
