Village for digital nomads in Italy

Previously, in the town of Ollolai in Italy, houses were sold for 1 euro, trying to solve the problem of depopulation and give a boost to the local economy. Now authorities want to take advantage of remote work.

For a rent of just 1 euro per month, 10 selected newcomers are promised a comfortable life on the island of Sardinia in one of the most environmentally friendly places. Almost free accommodation is essentially traded for knowledge and ideas that digital nomads can offer to the local community in the form of presentations or projects.

As a reminder, non-EU residents still need a temporary visa to work remotely from Italy.
